The Echelon team have been using and evaluating GPS and DGPS receivers for the last 7 to 8 years. We have also seen many agencies spending enormous amounts of money on GPS receiver - to record asset locations where the asset did not need to be located within a few centimeters accuracy. This discussion paper (to be produced shortly) will discuss the various types of GPS receivers that are available, their accuracies and costs, and other "factors" you might want to consider when considering purchases. More importantly, we will discuss the different levels of accuracy that might be considered for different assets.
