Passenger Counting We believe that there is a critical need in the Public Transit industry to determine, in reasonably precise terms, the numbers of passengers boarding buses and the passengers loadings on public transit vehicles. The present techniques and approaches for doing this produce (in many cases) questionable results. Echelon has pioneered in the development and use of Automated Passenger Counting (APC) systems that can address Section 15 requirements. This review (to be completed shortly) will discuss the pros and cons of APC units and what it takes to make such a system work effectively.
